Medical Research Council (MRC), UK

The MRC principally supports UK-based researchers - apart from its investments in its overseas Units in Africa. Whilst overseas researchers cannot be principal investigators on a grant application, they may be included in a proposal as a co-investigator, subject to prior discussion with the MRC and where invited to do so e.g. where the nature of the research makes this necessary.
Further information on how to apply for MRC funding is available via the website. The MRC Applicant’s Handbook is available as a guide.
